Paris International Go Tournament

Toyota - PandaNet European Go Tour final tournament

March 26, 27, 28 2005

Paris Go Tournament is the biggest go competition in Europe after the go congress: 280 players took part in 2003, and more than 320 in 2004. It is the final tournament of the Toyota Pandanet European Go Tour, a 12-tournament yearly circuit which awards substancial prizes to the strongest players.

The main tournament is open to go players of all levels. Like every year, several events will be held along with the 6 round main tournament, such as the lightning tournament, and a team ranking. Many prizes will be handed out, in money or otherwise, especially to people with more than 4 victories.

Chizu Kobayashi, 5 dan professional player of the nihon kiin, will be directing a workshop for young players. Saturday and sunday, she will give lectures and commentaries of young players attending the main tournament. On monday, a tournament will be held. Parents can either leave their child for the day, or join to discover the game. An early registration is recommended.

Yuki Shigeno, 2 dan professional, will play simultaneous games and comment games. From 30k to 9d, please record your games =)

The tournament will be held in the superb city hall of Paris' 13th district: stronger players will play in the "salle des mariages" (wedding hall), while others will be hosted in the "salle des fêtes" (baquet hall).

The tournament is organised by the Aligre go Club for the French Go Federation.
